Velocicoaster Upside Down

There’s something about a coaster that just makes your heart race. The anticipation of the climb, the fast drop, and the long ride around and around is irresistible for many people. Velocicoaster is a new kind of coaster that tests your speed limits and sends you flying through twists and turns at top speeds. If you’re brave enough to try it, here are three things you should know before going on Velocicoaster.

#1 Thing I Wish I Knew Before Going On Velocicoaster - You Need To Bring This Every time 😱

Don’t you ever EVER count on putting your park ticket, aka your locker key, into your pocket and getting on Velocicoaster. Why might you ask? In short, this is an intense thrill ride with drops, twists, turns, and corkscrews, and you go completely upside down! In other words, whatever is in your pocket will most likely not be in there after your adventurous ride. I always bring a lanyard with me specifically for Velocicoaster. A lanyard is a safe, easy, and secure way to keep your ticket on you without worry. The best part is you can walk through the metal detectors with it, and you won’t have to worry about it during the ride. Before boarding and getting strapped in, the team members will ask you to place your lanyard under your shirt, and then you’re good to go!

#2 Thing I Wish I Knew Before Going On Velocicoaster - There are only two "real" rows to sit in ✅

Let’s be honest – you want to go on Velocicoaster for the thrill, am I right? If the answer is yes (it should be a definite YAS), then the only two rows you should consider riding are the back and front rows. I have been on both rows, and there is no other way to ride this rollercoaster! I personally like the front row the most; nothing beats the feeling of being the first row looking down from the top of the 140-foot hill at an 80-degree angle. Once you ride the front row, you won’t even consider the others (unless it’s the very back).

#3 Thing I Wish I Knew Before Going On Velocicoaster - Where are the lockers? 👀

I had no clue about this one before riding! I was literally roaming around the entrance area, looking for the lockers. After frantically panicking because I didn’t know where to put my fanny pack, I saw other people in line with theirs… To my surprise, unlike other attractions at Universal, Velocicoaster lockers are located in the line queue. They’re going to be towards the end of the line right before you go through the metal detectors. The lockers are the same small slot size as the other attractions, and they’re free!  So don’t be like me – trust me that they’re in the line queue – no need to panic!  😂

*Bonus* Thing I Wish I Knew Before Going On Velocicoaster - Timing is everything

I’m going to say it – riding Velocicoaster at night is the best. Period. 💁‍♀️ You get the full effect with all the lights and not being able to see the track in front of you. This is the most exciting way to experience Velocicoaster.
