6 Significant Changes To WDW FastPass+ To Be Revealed April 10th

by hci_admin

Themeparktourist confirms rumour….we first heard whispers that some big changes were coming to Walt Disney World’s FastPass+ system a few weeks ago, it looks like a big update for this system is finally ready to roll out. On April 10th, a number of new features will be available for the My Disney Experience app, as well as a refreshed new look that will hopefully make everything a little bit easier for guests to use (and less menu-focused!). Here’s everything that is expected to change next week.WDW Fast Pass how to get image

1.  Book the amount of FastPass+ reservations you want

Under the current FastPass+ system, guests are required to make 3 FastPass+ reservations, with no exceptions. Even if you just want to experience one attraction after your dinner reservation at Be Our Guest, you have to make two other additional reservations in order just to get the one. However, under the new system, guests can book between one and three FastPass+ passes at first, with no restrictions. And while you Though guests might not be instantly excited at the prospect of getting fewer FastPass+ reservations, users are now able to make all of their additional FastPass+ selections directly through the MyDisneyExperience app… no kiosk required! No matter whether you made one, two or all three initial FastPass+ reservations, as soon as you’ve claimed whatever you had, you can boot up the app and make another reservation with no waiting.

2. Get another FastPass+ instantly

Though guests might not be instantly excited at the prospect of getting fewer FastPass+ reservations, users are now able to make all of their additional FastPass+ selections directly through the MyDisneyExperience app… no kiosk required! No matter whether you made one, two or all three initial FastPass+ reservations, as soon as you’ve claimed whatever you had, you can boot up the app and make another reservation with no waiting.

3. Guests can now search by time as well as attraction

One of the biggest criticisms of the FastPass+ system when it first came on the scene was its inflexibility when it came to time. Though you might be excited when booking your initial FastPass+ reservations when Peter Pan’s Flight shows up as available, that initial excitement can wear off when you realize that the only FastPass+ return time for said ride is at 9:55PM or another inconvenient time.

However, with the new, updated, FastPass+ system, guests will now be able to search by both attraction and time window simultaneously. So, if for instance you want to see if you can get on Splash Mountain between 1:00PM and 4:00PM, you can search for FastPass+ availability with these specific parameters in mind. In addition to making it easier for guests to keep to their own schedules (no more rushing to get on Pirates of the Caribbean after a lunch reservation!) this improvement will also help guests trying to stack their FastPass+ experiences in such a way that they can see as many attractions back-to-back as possible. FastPass+ pros will now be able to see what’s available around the park at a glance for a given time, which should defnitely help them maximize every visit to the parks.
