5 Ways to make your Disney trip more Eco-Friendly

by Jennifer Berry

Going to Disney is every kids dream (and adult too), and as adults we want our kids to get the most out of Disney and then one day, they’ll take their kids for awesome vacations and so on. Disney realized that, to be there for future generations, everyone needed to reduce their carbon footprint and make the world a better place. And since 2017, they’ve reduced the amount of potable water waste in their resorts, and established green and eco-friendly options through out the parks. Here we tell you a few ideas that’ll make your trip more eco-friendly and help teach your kids about environmental consciousness.

1 BRING YOUR OWN UTENSILS AND WATER BOTTLE.

Single use plastic items are the number 1 polluter right now because almost non of it gets to a landfill or gets recycled. So what can you do? Bring your own utensils and especially a water bottle, this last one your can refill on the many of Disney’s parks drinking fountains.

2 USE THE RECYCLING BINS

Sometimes it can be tough remembering to throw away garbage on the special recycling bins, but, it only takes 2 extra minutes to think about where to throw your garbage and it makes a huge difference. Remember that the staff and owners have worked very hard to keep everything clean for you, so help the planet, help yourself!! You’ll even feel better afterwards.

3 TAKE THE TRAIN!

Choo-choo!! Disneyland’s trains use a soy-based bio-diesel, so you can feel free and good about riding them wherever you adventures take you, well, at least around the parks!!

4 VISIT EPCOT’S SHOWS

Disney’s Epcot uses low-energy lasers that save 64,000 watts per show!!

5 HAVE A BITE AT DISNEYLAND’S MAIN BAKERY

Disneyland’s main bakery uses solar panels to fuel their entire enterprise, so take you time, go in, have breakfast, brunch or a snack and worry not about energy waste.

There are a thousand other ways to keep your trip eco-friendly! Remember, we want our grandkids to love this place as much as we do, but it has to be there for them! Let’s make sure it is!!
