Save Money At Disney World by packing your meals and snacks like this one!

1. Pack Snacks And Meals | Save Money At Disney World

In starting, if you want to save money at Disney World, you should be packing your own snacks and meals at the park. Yes, you can pack these items, and they won’t be confiscated. As long as they don’t require refrigeration, reheating and are appropriately sealed (no odor foods), then you’re good. I recommend going simple and packing protein bars and a sandwich or salad – you can’t go wrong!

2. Free Water | Save Money At Disney World

Here is a simple way to save money at Disney World! Instead of paying $3.50 for a water bottle, go and ask for a cup of water. You can get free ice-cold tap water from any quick service location in the parks that serve drinks. Additionally, I also recommend bringing a bottle of water so that you can fill up through the day as well – Florida is hot!

Disney Merch is Expensive in the parks

3. Buy Souvenirs/Disney Gear Before You Go

First off, being that I do content at the Disney parks often, I can tell you that people spend way too much on Disney souvenirs and merchandise! A great way to save money at Disney World is to buy these accessories ahead of time. Do you want Mickey Mouse ears? Instead of buying them for $29.99 in the Disney parks, you can buy them on Amazon for $9.99. You won’t be able to tell the difference between most of them. Especially if you’re traveling in a larger party with kids, you can score Disney souvenirs at discounted rates all over Orlando. Check out the map in this blog post to see the locations of Walmarts to score discounted Disney souvenirs (and other discounted Disney merch stores).

Book a tour to save money. Many of the Orlando Vacation Ownership resorts have waterparks and everything on property

4. Vacation Ownership Tours | Save Money At Disney World

Okay, I’m just going to come out and say it – if you’re really looking for a killer deal to save money at Disney World, then doing this will be a winner. Orlando is the capital for Vacation Ownership properties (aka Timeshare); even Disney is a part of the Timeshare business with their Disney Vacation Club. With the rise of travel increasing again after the pandemic, these timeshare companies are looking for people to come to see their newest and greatest properties in Orlando. Additionally, most of these vacation packages include an incentive for going on the timeshare tour – these can consist of gift cards, theme park tickets, and VISA cards toward tickets and expenses. These are definitely a great way to save money at Disney World during your vacation.

5. Skip Out On The Photopass | Save Money At Disney World

Firstly, to spend money on any photo pass is a waste – but spending $199 (Memory Maker Price) is a hard no! Above all, the lines you wait in to get your photos taken are like waiting in line for an attraction. They’re often ridiculously long and simply not worth it. In addition, you can ask ANY cast member or even the photographers to take your picture with your camera or phone, and they will do it for FREE! So stop wasting your money on the photo pass at Disney World and start saving money!

Get a room with a full kitchen

6. Get A Room With A Kitchen | Save Money At Disney World

Obviously, if you eat out every single meal, you’re going to look at your bank account statement and gasp – I’ve been there! One of the best ways to alleviate this vacation cost is to get a hotel room with a kitchenette or kitchen – BINGO! If you’re traveling as a family, spending a little extra for a kitchen will, in the long run, save you the most money. I also understand that most people don’t want “to cook” on vacation but loading your room with snacks and easy microwave meals alone will significantly impact your vacation expenses for the better. When dining out, an average meal in Orlando should cost around $20 per person – you do the math (it adds up very quickly).

Bring your poncho and save money

7. Bring Your Own Poncho | Save Money At Disney World

If you come in the summer – it’s going to rain. It is not a question of “if it will rain” but more of “when is it going to rain.” I can assure you that it will rain in the afternoon/evening every day in the summertime. To make sure you’re adequately ready to go, bring a poncho. They’re small enough to fit in just about any size bag (even a fanny pack). You will save around $10 per person if you come prepared with one already in your bag. The average price at Disney World for a poncho is $12 + tax (honestly overpriced, yet people forget to pack them and then have to buy them).
