Christmas at Gaylord Palms

Where has this year gone? Who cares, we get the Gaylord Palms Holiday on Ice!

It’s an ice sculpture, Charlie Brown. Characters from the “Peanuts” comic strip will have the lead role in the 2016 edition of Ice, a below-freezing exhibits that’s one of the holiday offerings at Gaylord Palms resort in Kissimmee.

Scenes from the popular TV special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be presented in carved-ice form, including Snoopy’s decorated doghouse, the “Peanuts” kids’ play rehearsal and when Charlie Brown picks out a Christmas tree.

New to the Gaylord holiday lineup is a character breakfast with buffet stocked with Peanut-themed items such as Woodstock’s Granola and Pig Pen’s Dirty Hash Browns. Visitors will be able to interact with Lucy and Charlie Brown.

Other new attractions will be Mrs. Claus’ Holiday Traditions, a storytime/singalong show and Santa’s Snow Throw, will real snowballs hurled at targets.

In addition, the resort has replaced its 54-foot tree with a 60-foot-tall one that’s LED-based.

Returning are the “Cirque Dreams Unwrapped” show, Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt, Gingerbread Decorating Corner, Alpine Rush, Cosmic Snow Tubing, the adults-only bar called On the Blocks, Build-A-Bear Workshop and photos with Santa Claus.

The Christmas at Gaylord Palms’ holiday celebration runs from Nov. 18 to Jan. 1. Tickets for Ice are $29.99 ($16.99 for ages 4 to 12).  There are discounts for online, advance purchases and for combo packages plus seasonal passes available.
