For the past 22 years, fall in Daytona has been characterized by Biketoberfest, one of the biggest motorcycle festivals in the state that promises to bring fun, food and sun to the city’s sandy shores.
This year’s festival runs from Oct. 16-19 and will spread through Volusia County and parts of Orange.
Like years past, the festival will feature concerts and contests at local bars like Dirty Harry’s Pub, Froggy’s Saloon and Full Moon Saloon. One of the main musical acts this year will be “The Voice” season one contestant Jared Blake who will be performing his country-grunge hits during three separate shows at the Iron Horse Saloon.
For the more adventurous bikers looking to explore beyond the shore, there are four featured rides that’ll be sure to appease your sense of wanderlust.
The Old City Rendezvous will lead riders on a 3-hour round trip from Daytona Beach to St. Augustine; Daytona Beach to DeLand is the route for the Steel Horse Scoot; the River to River tour is a round-trip from Ormond Beach to Palatka that’s scheduled for four hours plus stops; and the Navigation Tour is from the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse to the Canaveral National Seashore Park.
For locals prefering not to rack up the miles, Orlando Harley-Davidson Historic Factory Dealership will be hosting Hogtoberfest Oct. 17-19. This year’s celebration will feature an Eddie Money concert, food and vendors plus a chance to win a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.
Don’t fret if you don’t win that Street Glide, though, because there will be plenty of new, innovative models on display at the American International Motorcycle Expo at the Orange County Convention Center Oct. 16-19. Close to 500 vendors will be available to display and demonstrate the best of the best in the powersports industry.
