You could eat yourself silly at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. And that might explain why I volunteered myself for a little arithmetic to answer the burning question: What would it cost me to have one of everything?
For a guide, I used the Disney’s “festival passport,” which lists every marketplace plus other Epcot outlets that are tied to the event. For the purposes of this exercise, I only used the food items listed in the passport, not the stuff you can get every day of the year. For instance, at the Refreshment Cool Post in the Outpost area, the spicy hot dog with kimchi and mustard sauce counts, but the usual soft-serve ice cream in a cone does not.
I took pictures of each marketplace menu for future reference since the passport does a bang-up job of listing the food and beverages but does not share the price.
This year, there’s a two-way tie for most expensive dish at the fest. For $7.75, visitors can buy the filet mignon in Canada … or the New England lobster roll at the Hops & Barley marketplace located outside the American Adventure pavilion. North America is pricey at World Showcase, I guess.
The only other (solid) item in the seven-buck club is the grilled lamb (with mint pesto and potato crunchies), which can be purchased for $7.25 at the Australia marketplace.
The Aussies kind of make up for it on the less expensive side with a $3 item, the lamington, described in the passport as a yellow cake dipped in chocolate and shredded coconut. The only item to undercut that is the red wine chocolate truffle at the new Chocolate Studio. It’s $2.25.
The least expensive potable? Tsingtao lager from China for $3.50, although there are a slew of beers, ales and ciders that clock in at $3.75.
OK, it’s time for grand totals. If you ordered one of every solid food item offered at the 2016 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, the total would come to $450.37.
If you wanted every beverage as well, add $823.96.
All together, you’re looking at a grand total of $1,274.33 and one big belly ache/hangover combo. Cheers!
