On Thursday, Oct. 15, Orange County’s planning and zoning board voted 4-3 denying developer Joshua Wallack’s $460 million Skyplex development, which includes plans for a massive 570-foot-tall “polercoaster,” a 450-foot SkyFall drop tower, a surf park and the world’s largest Perkins!
So far, Universal Studios Orlando is saying they support the project, but they also seem to be Skyplex’s prime opponent. The proposed 570-foot tower would be located about a mile south of Universal Orlando and could easily be seen from within their park.
Wallack claims the project will provide 1,000 year-round operational jobs.
