What are the Top 10 Disney Character Meals?

Character meals are a memorable addition to any Disney vacation. The food is always great – and so is the company! Here are ten of our favorites…

Ohana Mickey

1. Ohana

If a laid-back family-style breakfast is on your mind, look no further than the character breakfast at Ohana in the Polynesian resort. The dishes will be mostly traditional breakfast foods but with a unique Hawaiian flare – yum! Plus this is your chance to mingle with the mischievous and lovable Stitch and his buddy Lilo. (P.S. Lilo is a hard-to-find character – this breakfast and select times at Typhoon Lagoon are usually her only appearances.)

Winnie The Pooh - Crystal Palace

2. Crystal Palace

If you’re looking for friends from the Hundred Acre Woods, look no further than the Crystal Palace. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets just off of Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom. Not only can you expect beautiful, bright ambiance with its glorious windows, you can also expect delicious food no matter what time of day you choose to dine. Don’t forget to save room for dessert – key lime pie, coconut flan and warm bread pudding are just a few of the delicious options.

Chef Mickey's

3. Chef Mickey’s

Chef Mickey’s has gained a reputation as one of the best character meals for kids. Located inside the Contemporary Resort, this buffet is open for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Your family will have a chance to meet the classic five – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto – which is a great option for saving wait time inside the parks. For an additional fee, you can enjoy a “Storybook Moment” with a special lanyard, autographed keepsake, and even mouse ears.

Cape May Cafe

4. Hollywood and Vine

Inside Hollywood Studios is the only place you can dine with your child’s favorite Disney Jr. pals such as Jake, Sofia, Doc, or Manny. Open for a breakfast or lunch buffet, this venue has the perfect atmosphere and menu for little ones, though adults will be satisfied as well. Young guests are even encouraged to get up and dance to familiar Disney Jr. tunes. At dinner time Minnie throws seasonal parties at this location as well.

Hollywood and Vine

5. Cape May Cafe

This bright and airy restaurant in Disney’s Beach Club Resort is home to Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast. The breakfast buffet is pure Disney quality, with lots of variety for both adults and kids. You’ll meet a variety of classic Disney pals (usually three, but they are subject to change) who are dressed ready to hit the shore. The atmosphere is relaxed and serene with plenty of time for casual character interaction. Since the Beach Club is located right next to the World Gateway entrance, it’s a great way to start an EPCOT park day – you can walk right in!

Mickey's Backyard BBQ

6. Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

This dinner show and character greeting at the Wilderness Campground is guaranteed to be a rootin’ tootin’ good time! You can expect a BBQ with all the fixin’s – burgers, ribs, corn on the cob, and even complimentary beer and wine. Kids of all ages will love the chance to kick up their boots on the dance floor with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

Snow White at Akershus

7. Akershus

If you’re looking for unique food and princess encounters, look no further than Akershus in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion. Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel and Mary Poppins appear here on a rotating schedule, and you can add on “Storybook Moments” including a tiara and autographed keepsake. The food at breakfast will be more classic fare, but lunch and dinner will include Norwegian specialties such as Kjottkake, a type of Scandinavian meatball.

Characters visit Diners at 1900 Park Fare Breakfast

8. 1900 Park Fare

At the Grand Floridian, you can have the next best thing to an un-birthday party – breakfast with Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Tigger, and Pooh! Or in the evening, join Cinderella and her royal friends for a Happily Ever After Dinner, a buffet to remember for your little princess. “Storybook Moments” can be added on here as well.

Tusker House Daisy Duck

9. Tusker House

You won’t find a more adventurous character meal than the one at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom. Not only are the characters dressed ready for a safari for all three meals, but the food will transport you to the African savannah. Blatjangs and sombals, anyone? Whatever you choose at the buffet, be sure to leave room for the Chocolate Volcano Cake.

Cinderella's Royal Table

10. Cinderella’s Royal Table

The pinnacle of character dining is, of course, the venue inside Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom, where a wide variety of the princesses greet you. Gourmet food, luxe atmosphere, and personalized service will all make you and your princess feel like you are living the life of royalty. There is no official dress code, but girls are encouraged to dress as their favorite princess. Several add-on packages are available at this signature location, including unique upgrades for birthdays and proposals.

Make the most of your Disney experience with one of these character dining meals – you won’t be disappointed.
