Last night, the National Hurricane Center adjusted the prediction for Hurricane Matthew. It’s possible that a Hurricane is headed for Walt Disney World.
Yesterday, Matthew was forecast to stay far east of Florida and not really impact much in the Orlando area. That’s changed. The latest prediction has Matthew coming much closer to Orlando with a small possibility that it will directly impact the Orlando area.
Here’s the latest track projection for Matthew from the National Hurricane Center
If you are headed to Walt Disney World this week, what should you do?
That’s a good question.
First know that Disney is watching things closely and making preparations for whatever might happen. Watch your MyDisneyExperience app. There will be updates as necessary on the app.
Get in touch with your airline for any updates from them. They should keep you informed.
Then relax. There’s not much else you can do.
Yes, I know you are going to worry and fret. Hey, a hurricane is headed for Orlando. That’s a big deal. But worrying and fretting won’t really change anything. I know, you’re going to anyway. That’s OK!
If you are a customer of our partners at Destinations to Travel (and you should be), they will be monitoring the situation and will be in touch with the airlines. Your agent will keep you up to date and work to make sure everything goes as smooth as it can.
Hopefully, Matthew will turn east and won’t effect the Orlando area. We’ll see. Just keep your ears open for the next few days and pray for Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas.
