Disneyaddicts.com entices you by stating: We have a special treat for all your carnivores out there as we run through some of the best burgers to be found on Walt Disney World property. So if you like a good bit of beef to get you through your Disney days then you’ll definitely want to jot down some of these tried-and-true favorites in a post that is guaranteed to give you the meat sweats.
Best Overall: Angus Beef Burger at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop – Absolutely perfect in its simplicity this burger frequently ranks at the top of Foodies’ lists. A juicy beef patty topped with cheddar cheese and tomato, it’s definitely worth a trip to Disney’s Beach Club Resort. This delightful vintage Soda Shop also serves up a mouth-watering selection of milkshakes and floats which serve as the perfect accompaniment to a burger and fries. This entrée will set you back about $16.00 or those on the dining plan can have a meal here for 1 Table Service dining credit.
Best Burger at Magic Kingdom: Honey BBQ Beef Brisket Burger at Plaza Restaurant – For those that love a big dose of meat piled high on top of …well, meat, then this is the burger for you. This quaint little turn of the century dining spot doesn’t pack them in the way that other Magic Kingdom restaurants might but it’s top-of-Main Street location makes it a great place to people watch while sinking your teeth into a burger topped with beef brisket and decorated with bacon, provolone cheese and the classic trimmings. Though the burger comes in at a costly $19.00, it’s bound to keep you satiated long after the last visitor has left the park. This entrée can also be purchased on the Disney Dining Plan.
Best Burger at Hollywood Studios: Hollywood Studios Brown Derby & The Sci-Fi Angus Burger at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant – For those wanting to treat themselves to a Signature Dining experience while at the parks, the Hollywood Brown Derby is a fantastic port-o-call for some old-school Hollywood glamour and a menu designed to pamper. Nowhere is the more evident than with the much-loved Grilled Wagyu Beef Burger. This delicious sandwich is topped with Gruyere Cheese, pastrami, tomato, avocado and a fried egg. Its held together by a toasted brioche bun and dressed with a Cognac- Mustard Aioli. At $23.00 or 2 Table Service credits, it holds the top spot as the most expensive burger on our list – but its sure to be a treat for those willing to part with the cash.
The Sci-Fi Angus Burger is another meat-lovers treat that foodies frequently rate as the top burger on property. Though there are several burgers on offer at Sci-Fi, a great starting point is the Build-Your-Own Angus Burger. Guests start with a brioche bun and a beef patty and can top it with trimmings including three types of cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, bacon, onion rings or BBQ sauce. Or for a special treat ask about the Seasonal Specialty Burger. Sci-Fi changes them up quite a bit so you never know what you’re going to get. Don’t forget to top it all of with one of the restaurant’s delicious milkshakes as you sit in your convertible car and enjoy the B-movies playing on the Drive-In movie screen. Burgers range in price from $17.50 – $19.00 or the meal will set you back 1 Table Service Credit
Best Burger at Epcot: French Dip Burger at Electric Umbrella – The complaint most often leveled against Disney’s burger offerings is that even the best can on occasion be a bit on the dry side. However, that is not the case with this Future World treat. The 1/3 lb Angus Burger is topped with brisket, crispy onions, and Muenster cheese. Unlike traditional French dip where the jus is on the side, the brisket is steeped in lovely juices making for a fabulously moist (but not soggy) burger. As a quick service offering its also slightly easier on the pocketbook coming in at a quick service credit or $13.29.
Best Burger at Animal Kingdom: Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti – Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park have long been flocking to Yak and Yeti for traditional Asian-inspired dishes like Lo Mein and Dim Sum, that’s why many people are surprised that its home to one of the best burgers on Disney property – the Kobe Beef Burger . This 10 oz grilled American Kobe beef burger is topped with a sesame and soy mayonnaise, shoestring fries and your choice of either shiitake mushrooms and scallion compote or an Asian slaw. At $19.99 or 1 Table Service credit on the dining plan, it will definitely keep you full during your safari adventures.
Best Burger at Disney Springs: Any burger at D-Luxe Burger – Though long standing Disney Springs favorites like Splitsville, House of Blues and Raglan Road offer burgers of note, Disney Springs has a new front runner when it comes to delicious burger offerings- the aptly named D-Luxe Burger. Guests can choose from traditional offerings like the Classic Cheeseburger or the BBQ Classic Burger or go experimental with items like the El Diablo which features a chorizo and beef patty, friend banana peppers, Pepper-Jack cheese and chipotle mayonnaise. For the yin to your burger’s yang add a delicious gelato shake to your meal. Or for a fun dessert treat order up the Red Velvet Burger Macaroons. it’s that same delicious macaroon flavor but made to look like wee cheeseburgers. Burgers start at just $9.99 making it a nice budget option. Disney’s Dining Plans are also accepted.
Best Resort Burger: Kona Surf and Turf Burger Deluxe at the Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Though a similar menu item at the Grand Floridian Cafe always seems to get the accolades, I actually prefer the Polynesian’s offering. Not only is a visit to this monorail resort a lovely island themed retreat when you need to take some time away from the parks, but its home to Kona Cafe, a restaurant I’ve long considered to be a Disney hidden-gem. Those lucky (and hungry) enough to sample one of these delicious burgers will not be disappointed. It features an Angus Chuck Burger topped with Passion Fruit-Onion Jam, spicy fried shrimp and is topped of with sweet potato fries. So bask in the tropical glow of this fantastic retreat and dole out the $18.00 needed for this tasty burger offering. Kona Cafe is also included in the Disney Dining Plan.
Best Vegetarian Burger: Southwest Vegetarian Burger Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant– For any of you vegetarians that made it this far through our list- I salute you. Though you’ll find many bog-standard veggie burger options scattered throughout the resorts and theme parks. The one that consistently gets the highest praise is the Southwest Vegetarian Burger at Sci-Fi. A refreshing change from meat substitutes, this burger features a Black Bean and Vegetable Patty topped with Tomato Jam, Arugula, fresh tomatoes and avocado mayonnaise. Guests can also choose from a side salad or sweet potato fries to round out the meal. This entrée will set visitors back $14,00 or 1 Table Service Dining credit.
The Most Unique Burger: (TIE )PB& J Burger at ESPN Club or Battered Burger at Cookes of Dublin– For a one-of-a-kind burger that you aren’t likely to get anywhere else, head over to ESPN Club on Disney’s Boardwalk for their carnivorous take on a this classic sandwich. The burger features smoked bacon, peanut butter and jalapeño jam on a toasted butter bun and will set diners back about $16.00.
From the same area of the world responsible for deep-fried Mars Bars, Cookes of Dublin thumbs their nose at cholesterol with their Battered Burger and Chips. The burger itself consists of a hand battered beef burger, garlic mayonnaise, tomato chutney and mixed greens. And at $10.95 its not too far from Chip Shop prices. Both Unique Burger venues also take the Disney Dining Plan.
So next time you hit the parks be sure to indulge your carnivorous cravings at one of Disney’s burger joints. And congratulations if you made it through this list without paying a pit stop to your refrigerator at least once.
