If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, there are a few things you should avoid if you don’t want to end up hating your experience. Here are four things I won’t do again at Disney World.

Hot Summers at Disney World is definitely something I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

1. Going During July | I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

Firstly, take this advice from me since I’m an Orlando resident – July is unbearably hot – especially to be enduring Disney World. In my mind, this time is blocked out because it feels like a steam room outside. The only exception is going to a Disney World water park-like Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. If you like feeling like you’re melting mid-day, then go in July, but for me, this is something I won’t do again at Disney World.

Leaving With The Massive Crowd At Magic Kingdom Is Something I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

2. Being Apart Of The Mass "Exodus" After The Fireworks | I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

Leaving right after the fireworks, by far, gives me the most anxiety on this list of things I’ll never do again at Disney World. Being packed in a large crowd and going out of two tiny exits of Magic Kingdom isn’t cute and isn’t quick either. The night this “exodus” photo was taken, it took me an hour and a half to leave Magic Kingdom to get back to my car in the Magic Kingdom parking lot (it’s only a mile away). Here is a helpful tip that I learned after enduring this – the gift shops along Main Street U.S.A. are open an hour after the park “closes.” I rather look around the gift shop and pick up some last-minute goodies versus going through the enormous crowd ordeal again.

Overpacking at the Dsney Parks is something I certainly Won’t Do Again In Disney World

3. Overpacking At The Disney Parks| I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

I promise you that I’ll never do this again! Overpacking at Disney is the worst feeling – to lug it around the theme park all day – no thanks! Realistically, you don’t need a tote or giant hiking backpack filled with things for a day at the parks. Most fanny packs or crossbodies can easily fit a poncho, snacks, a portable charger, wallet, sunglasses, etc. You can clip a water bottle to either (and just like that, your packing problem is solved). Learn from my mistake of carrying a big tote bag filled with things I didn’t necessarily need on a content day – it wasn’t very fun, and never do that again!

4. Relying On The Disney Buses | I Won’t Do Again In Disney World

Let me start off by saying – that I’m appreciative that Disney World provides complimentary transportation. However, if I’m trying to make a reservation or get somewhere quickly – the buses aren’t it! People often think that they’re quick, but, in my experience, especially in switching parks, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour if it’s swamped (not 5 minutes like many people think). The great thing about Disney is that there are options – we love options! As an alternative, I’ll take a monorail, a ferry boat, or even an Uber if it’s super crowded. I’m not trying to convince you to boycott the buses, but don’t choose that as your first option if you’re trying to get somewhere swiftly – this one I won’t be doing again!
