Walt Disney World is one of the most desired places to visit from people from all over the World. That could explain why it is visited by thousands of people every day and why it is so important for someone who has save up FOR YEARS, just to make it happen. We will show you 9 ways to avoid Disney scams.

Even when you think there couldn’t be a place on Earth for someone who is able to do something like this: you are wrong. Unfortunately, there is. Some people invest their whole time offering fake promises to wishful people.

9. Internet is NOT always your friend 😥

Some web pages on the Internet offer tickets at awesome prices: Ignore them.

WDW has its official web page and that’s the only one you can really trust. Even though they also have authorized dealers, you have to be aware of details like: They do not allow their authorized ticket dealers to use the word “Disney” in their URLs or to sell discounted 1-day tickets.

Always be aware of the paying methods too. Western Union and cash aren’t good options.

8. Social Media Scams 😕

A Facebook Page called “Walt Disney World Rt.”, offers a bag containing a Disney World trip for five people, sweets, and other prizes just by sharing and commenting on a giveaway post. The image used in the scam post is about Minnie Mouse themed gift bags that can be used for a child’s birthday party.

However, the Facebook Page has no connection to the genuine Walt Disney World Page. Please, always look for the blue check sign next to the page name. That’s the only way you can be sure it is Facebook verified.

It can happen on any of the Social Media platforms.

7. All that glitters is not gold 🙄

Even though they show you tickets that look very real, they are not legitimate. It doesn’t matter if you see a shop or souvenirs stand offering you excellent deals with tickets that look like the real ones, don’t buy them!

They look authentic, I know, but there’s no way to know if they’re telling the truth until you get to Disney, and I don’t think you want to take that trip for nothing.

6. Cast Member Complimentary Tickets 😕

When people is working at any of WDW programs, they often get free tickets. These tickets can be easily faked, and  they are not supposed to be sold.

They often come with a lot of rules like schedules and they will also most likely to be declined. So, do some research first!

5. Scam on a pizza! 😕

Everybody loves pizza, right? And, of course, if you are hungry at your hotel room near to WDW and suddenly a pizza flyer magically appears under your door offering great deals and accepting your credit card payment, you might call. It is better to ask for something from the same hotel, otherwise, you might get scammed.

4. Keep your feet on the ground 😯

Ok, let’s be clear, Disney won’t give you anything for free (except a cup of water at most quick service restaurants). So, if you see the “free” word before or after Walt Disney World, don’t ever trust.

Even if you win a legitimate WDW vacation in an authorized Disney contest, there will probably still be a few fees you will be responsible for.

Don’t believe things that you know are too good to be truth and reserve your resort or tickets through the official Walt Disney World web page.  This is the only way you will be guaranteed to get what you are paying for.

3. If somebody used it already, forget it  💡

This is the thing: Somebody might tell you the ticket on sale has been only used once, and you think “well, it is a lot cheaper and I will only miss a day, I’ll buy it”, so, let me ask… Are you totally sure that’s true? How will you know they are telling the truth? You should NEVER buy partially used tickets unless you just want to throw your money away.

2. Resale of partially used multi-day tickets 😐

Consider this: only Disney could know how many days they have left; its biometric system verifies the purchaser fingerprints, aaaaand, the most important thing, buying partially used WDW tickets is against the law, of course, the seller gets the big trouble, but you might get some for trying to use tickets that you didn’t purchase.

Don’t throw your money away and stay out of trouble by going online at the official Disney web page, or finding a Disney Travel Agent.

1. The Scalpers Game 👿

Yeah, that’s right, and it is not even illegal, so you better don’t get in the hands of a WDW dining scalper.

It is simple, they get a lot of dining reservations ahead of time (a lot cheaper, of course) and then, as you can’t book them on your own because they are not available anymore, they offer a fake service. They say they can get you one and charge you with a lot of money, but the only thing they do is changing names and nobody will guarantee the operation will be successful.  Just get the “My Disney Experience” app, and you can check daily on dining reservations, for free, you won’t regret.
